30 YEARS AGO TODAY!
I miss these guys, but thanks to the body of work they left behind and the wonder of the internet, I can recapture a bit of my teenage years and only wonder what might have been, had they just stayed around a little bit longer.
RIP: Ronnie, Cassie, and Steve.

Gotta love Skynard!! Thanks for your comments today, I used to live in Savannah GA, and as a truck driver I would get down to Jax quite often. I would pick up at Pepsi Cola, and deliver to mercedes benz, off of baymeadows rd.
You should join my guitar players over 40 blogring, we only have 2 members right now and could use some more.
Have a great weekend or what is left of it! Randy
Oh cool! You already did join guitar players over 40! Thanks.....it is the best blogring ever!
It was a tragedy, they left some good things for us though.
I miss Lynyrd Skynyrd, too! Well, the original folks you're talking about here!
Hey, I guess we have more good football coming up this weekend, uless you are on a bye week. We play Oakland tomorrow. I must say, I was glad to finally get your Jags off my site! LOL
Have a great weekend, Tommy!

Hello, Funny I did not know until now what caused the plane to crash. I have some of their "albums"
. Love your background! Take Care, Sharon up in Charles Town
Oh, man, I miss them too. I hate that they left us before I could really get a chance to love their music, as I do now. I was too young to realize what a gift they were. And I DO remember that is how I met you, through a post about them. I just got lucky with the fantasy football.....this is the first time I have ever played but Tim plays every year.
I have often wondered what bands and performers would be doing today if still alive. Janis Joplin? Jim Morrison? Would be so cool to be able to still see them.
ryc: Yea, but you know what the "oldies" are great. I remember while working several years ago the store had song playing. A co-worker said that hey my mother sings that all the time. Then it occured to me. UGH! I could have been his mother. Yea I was in my twenties then. I like Indiana Jones sayings, "It's not the age, but the mileage." I have flipped my settings many of times. Just a grinning, Sharon
Left way before their time. *sigh* Awesome group!
Hope you're having a great weekend. How's the team doing? I won't know unless you tell me. LOL

Yes, the 5th is still Bonfire or Guy Fawkes night here. Most go to big public events now though I think where the fire and fireworks are more impressive and safer. We missed out this year but if you go back to late October 2006 you'd find a blog of mine about the one in this town then. The public ones are still being staged, there's one on the 12 th nearby I know but I doubt we'll get to that, lack of transport and money.
Hope you're doing well!
Hey, Tommy! It's been forever since I've seen your somersaulting astronaut visiting my site! I hope you haven't retired from Xanga, and that you post again soon!
